The Faculty of Medicine was founded on March 17, 1978, at the initiative of the University of Banja Luka, with the aim of educating experts with a higher professional qualification and the professional title of Doctor of Medicine.
In the last few years, the Faculty has devoted considerable attention to the expansion of spatial capacities, technical equipment and personnel training in order to enable the provision of modern professional knowledge.
In addition to the educational and teaching role, special sub-organizational units such as:

The Faculty of Medicine perfects and develops scientific research methods, organizes systematic monitoring of professional and scientific achievements and prepares staff for independent professional and scientific research work. It organizes and carries out continuous professional development of personnel in the field of healthcare within the framework of modern achievements in that field, and in particular deals with raising and improving scientific and teaching young people in accordance with the reform of Higher Education, and participates in scientific and research projects of all medical disciplines. He is a participant in the project to reform the Medical Faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Bologna Declaration and the European reform of higher education.
