ADDITIVE PRODUCTION (3D PRINTING) VS TRADITIONAL PRODUCTION

Additive manufacturing (AM) involves making 3D objects by adding materials layer by layer based on a digital CAD model, using a wide range of different types of polymers, composites and metals.

Contrary to traditional ( subtractive ) methods, 3D printing enables fast and precise production of parts with complex geometries with reduced weight, improved performance and minimal material waste. In addition to eliminating the need for expensive tooling in low-volume production, 3D printing provides greater freedom to designers, making it a cost-effective and efficient solution for many industries.

Using a farm of 3D printers of different technologies:

  • FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling),
  • SLA (Stereolithography),
  • SLS (Selective Laser Sintering),
  • WLM (Wire-Laser Metal)

and a wide selection of engineering materials, we provide the possibility of rapid individual/serial production and subsequent processing of parts in our production sector and then deliver to your address.

FDM TECHNOLOGY

FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) is the most common 3D printing technology, which forms objects layer by layer by extruding thermoplastic material through a heated nozzle.

It enables the production of larger parts with a wide selection of colors and materials available, including ABS, PLA, PETG, PP, nylon, PC, TPU, as well as carbon and glass fiber reinforced composites.

Although the most affordable, FDM technology achieves lower precision and poorer surface quality compared to SLA and SLS methods.

In our production plant, we offer production from the filaments of the leading producers of filaments on the market - AzureFilm, Ultimaker and BambuLab , and the maximum working volume of the FDM printing plant is 500 × 500 × 570 mm .

SLA TECHNOLOGY

SLA (Stereolithography) technology uses a UV laser to precisely polymerize photopolymer resins, forming 3D objects layer by layer.

Thanks to its high resolution, fine details and smooth surfaces, it is ideal for the production of functional and precise industrial components, the production of models of organic geometries, as well as dental and medical models.

The maximum volume of SLA printing in our facility is 335 × 200 × 300 mm . In addition, at our Formlabs 3D printer farm, we offer a wide selection of resins for different purposes:

Standard resins (Black, White, Grey, Clear, Fast Model) - Precise and smooth finish, suitable for visual prototypes and models.

Engineering resins:

  • Tough 2000 & Tough 1500 – Tough and durable materials, with Tough 2000 being analogous to ABS and Tough 1500 being analogous to polypropylene.
  • Durable – High wear resistance and low friction, similar to PE and POM materials.
  • Rigid 4000 & Rigid 10K – Reinforced with glass particles, ideal for rigid and precision parts, such as plastic injection mold prototypes.
  • Flexible 80A &Elastic 50A – Flexible materials for making elastic and rubber components.

SLS TECHNOLOGY

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) is a 3D printing technology that uses a high-energy laser to selectively sinter polymer powder, layer by layer, until the final object is formed.

No need for a support structure - Unused powder serves as a support, enabling the printing of complex and functional geometries.

Excellent mechanical properties - The parts are strong, durable and have a homogeneous structure.

Thanks to its precision and resistance, SLS is ideal for small series of final products , functional prototypes and complex structures that would be difficult to implement with other methods.

In our facility, we offer production of parts from Formlabs Nylon 12 and TPU 90A materials , with a maximum working volume of 159 × 159 × 295 mm .

WLM technology

WLM (Wire-Laser Metal, as a subtype of Directed Energy Deposition technology) technology uses six lasers to melt metal wire, forming a melting pool from which the object is created layer by layer. This method enables the production of parts with complex geometries and high strength and durability from different metal materials.

The maximum working volume in our plant is 761 × 408 × 440 mm , and the available materials are various steels, titanium and nickel alloys.
