MILITARY TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (VTI) is the largest military scientific and research institution in the Republic of Serbia. It is an integral part of the Directorate for Defense Technologies, Sector for Material Resources, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia. It is accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development as a scientific and research institution of the Republic of Serbia.
Laboratory capacities of VTI have been created for over 70 years. Today, VTI has 24 modern laboratories. Some of them are of international importance, some are unique in the Balkans, and most of them go beyond military significance, so they can be considered a national resource of the Republic of Serbia.
