Why 3D printing?

Zašto 3D štampa?

3D printing allows us to make original and creative things. From ordinary things around us, screws, boxes, mobile phone covers, to a completely new way of thinking, printing airplane parts, printing skeletons, developing bio-printers... I decided on 3D printing because it is a big leap from the digital to the analog world. And that after a long series of years of complete digitization of the world around us - media, work, interaction, shopping... One of the things I learned along the way is that the development of commercial 3D printing only started in 2009, because in the period from 2004 to 2008 .a number of patents for various technological processes have expired. This especially excites me, because I believe that the existence of patents slows down the development of humanity for at least the 50 to 70 years that the patent owner can stop production of any product that uses his patent.

Why Ultimaker?

Because it was created by the work and effort of three people in the garage of a small town (Geldermalsen, The Netherlands). Today, the company has over 250 people only in the headquarters (HQ and production) and is still located in the small town of Geldermalsen. Because the view in front of the company is completely unreal :) and because it is a good company.

Of course, because it is open source. CURA and Marlin, the desktop and device software, are completely open source and free. Ideal for further rapid development within scientific institutions and schools. Open filament, which means you can use any filament that can fit in it. The best is 2.85mm, but other, smaller diameters are also possible. After 12 months from the release of the printer model, all plans are available for download via the site. Because in large part it represents the culture of a nation that I find incredible. Above all is the common good, which includes the complete freedom of man as long as he does not endanger the other. They even have a word for it. They don't have curtains, every part of the country is arranged, together they took the land from the sea, they have coffee shops, free education and kindergartens, almost everyone rides bicycles... Surely there is also the fact that they have been robbing for many years :) But there are also few who are in at that moment in history, they had developed countries, but they did not do that.
