In 2021, Bradley Bacigalupi embarked on a mission that would soon begin to change the retail landscape. Founding Red Wolf Technology in Lehi, Utah, he set out to build the world's largest on-demand distribution and manufacturing network. But his vision wasn't just about scale—it was deeply rooted in sustainability and efficiency, aiming to transform the way products are created and consumed around the world.
Sustainable retail on demand
The retail industry has long faced the challenges of waste, overproduction and inefficiency. Traditional production processes often lead to excess inventory, which not only blocks capital, but also contributes to environmental degradation. Bradley recognized the need for a different approach—one that could deliver products quickly, efficiently, and with minimal waste.
The philosophy of Red Wolf Technology is simple: produce only what is needed, when it is needed . Using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, Red Wolf Technology enables retailers to produce customized products on-site, eliminating the need for large inventories and reducing the environmental footprint of production. This approach delivers significant savings and higher margins for businesses, while supporting a more sustainable spending model.
The right technology for ambitious goals
Finding the right technology was not easy. Bradley explains:
"We've been exploring 3D printing for years as a method to deliver products directly to customers in stores and service centers, but previous solutions were too slow, produced poor part finishes, had terrible software and hardware, and were very expensive."
However, in 2022, everything changed when Bambu Lab launched its first 3D printer on the market. Red Wolf Technology was among the first to test the new solution.
"The combination of fast printing, near-perfect finished parts, minimal maintenance and exceptional user experience offered by Bambu Lab made us confident that the market would be excited to bring this technology into their shops, service stations and warehouses," recalled Bradley.
New markets and leadership in sustainable retail
Today, Red Wolf Technology focuses its efforts on expanding and improving its parts library to better meet the diverse needs of its customers. The focus on innovation, combined with the partnership with Bambu Lab , has opened up new markets that were previously out of reach, cementing their position as a leader in sustainable on-demand retailing.

Building a global network through strategic partnerships
From its headquarters in Lehi, Utah , Red Wolf Technology has expanded rapidly. It now operates in 18 countries and in over 30,000 retail stores , handling thousands of devices per week. This growth confirms the effectiveness of Bradley Bacigalupi's vision and the appeal of sustainable, on-demand manufacturing in today's retail environment.
One of the key steps in the development of Red Wolf was the recent collaboration with Motorola Mobility . This partnership has enabled the company to apply its innovative 3D printing technologies to the phone repair industry, giving service providers the ability to produce OEM quality tools on demand.
"Access to repair tools can be expensive, time-consuming and logistically challenging," said Darwin Garcia , service engineering manager at Motorola Mobility. "3D printing is a new and exciting solution to these problems. Red Wolf Technology has been very supportive in adding our repair tools to their 3D platform."
This collaboration shows how innovative technology can drive industry-wide change, benefiting both repair professionals and consumers. Shops can now produce OEM-quality templates and molds directly on-site, reducing turnaround time and ensuring the highest level of repairs.
