The AMS Hub is used to expand the number of AMS units connected to Bambu X1/P1 series printers — from one AMS unit (4 channels) to a maximum of four AMS units (16 channels). This improves filament replenishment speed and enables buffered signal redundancy.
The AMS Hub comes with the necessary accessories to connect 2 AMS units. To add more AMS units, it is necessary to order additional Bus cables and PTFE tubes. To use 4 AMS units, it is necessary to additionally order 2x Bus cable (6-pin) and 2x PTFE tube 2m long.
Expand the capabilities of the AMS system
The built-in buffer in the printer can only be connected to one AMS unit. When replaced with an AMS Hub, it is possible to connect up to 4 AMS units.
Installation
The AMS Hub mounts on the back of the printer, replacing the filament buffer (if present).
- Use the appropriate Bambu 4-pin cable to connect to the printer.
- Use the Bambu 6-pin cable to connect to the first AMS unit, then continue in series with the other AMS units.
- A PTFE tube connects the AMS Hub to the air port on the back of the printer. The pipe should pass between the 4-pin connector and the spool holder to reduce resistance.
- The length of the PTFE tube should be as short as possible and without twisting, in order to reduce the resistance when pulling in the filament.
