The Open World Championship in Autonomous Robotics has new champions. They are from Serbia, from the Novi Sad Faculty of Technical Sciences.
The PMG Robotics team consists of electrical engineering and mechatronics students in their 4th year of study at the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad. Outside of their student duties, these young people excel in the field of autonomous robotics. The team designs, manufactures and programs fully autonomous robots that solve specific tasks by applying the knowledge gained during their studies. The tasks change every year, as does the terrain on which the robots move. In this way, new challenges are constantly introduced in order to encourage students' innovation, creativity and application of theoretical knowledge in practice.
This year, the PMG Robotics team took 1st place at the national competition, which was held on April 6, in the building of the Rectorate of the University of Novi Sad. Behind the team is 8 months of dedicated work on designing the appearance of the robot, constructing mechanical elements, electronic elements, programming, planning movement strategies, solving tasks, etc. The final product is two champion robots, which represented Serbia at the open world championship in France at the beginning of June. For the first time in the history of this event, the first place is won by a team from Serbia.
The company Infinity Print from Novi Sad supported the PMG robotics team this year in the form of technical support and 3D printing of spare, prototype and functional parts.

Over 100 parts were printed from various materials, with different mechanical and physical properties. Using the possibilities and advantages of 3D technology over traditional methods of making parts, and using the most modern materials such as ABS, CPE, TPU, NYLON PA, PC, the PMG Robotics team came up with a solution in a fast and efficient way, if necessary changing the idea without much time loss. Thanks to the use of 3D printing, the PMG robotics team had time to devote itself to solving other problems and in time to eliminate errors and prepare the robots for the competition.

By combining the knowledge and skills of the PMG robotics team and the experience with 3D modeling and 3D printing of the Infinity Print team, 1st place was won at this year's international competition.
