Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade

The Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade was founded on October 24, 1939. The Faculty of Pharmacy became an independent higher education institution on October 19, 1945. For many years, teaching at the faculty took place in the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine, and from September 1991, the Faculty of Pharmacy got its own building at 450 Vojvode Stepe Street.
From its establishment until the end of 2007, 9,284 students graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, 1,788 candidates completed their specialization (1,176 specializations for healthcare purposes), 286 master's theses and 239 doctoral dissertations were defended.
In addition to its main activity as a higher education institution, the Faculty of Pharmacy carries out educational, scientific, health, professional and publishing activities, as well as library and museum activities. The Museum of Pharmacy History is registered as an official museum of the city of Belgrade.
The professional activities of teachers and associates are connected with the intensification of cooperation with colleagues from practice, but also with better quality and greater volume of work that the Faculty performs based on the contract on business-technical cooperation with economic entities.
The Faculty of Pharmacy is a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), and since 2002 of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP).
The mission of the Faculty of Pharmacy as a higher education institution is to educate and train experts competent in all aspects of medicine and work in clinical laboratories, as well as to provide appropriate services in all domains of pharmaceutical activity, which overall contributes to the improvement of the health system.
