The school started operating in 1933 by decision of the Ministry of Education, and during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia under the name "King Petar II". Under that name, the school worked until the year 37, when it was named "King Petar II Excellent Primary School", where the best methodologists and pedagogues worked. "Kralj Petar I" elementary school today has 40 classes from I-VIII grades with 1044 students. The students of Elementary School "Kralj Petar I" regularly participate in all elementary school competitions at the level of the Municipality, the Region and the Republic of Serbia. In doing so, they achieve significant results.
